Currently accepting new clients. Adam Kaufman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Hunter College. His therapeutic approach blends depth-oriented psychodynamic principles with the structured, skills-based methods of CBT, allowing him to flexibly adapt to each client’s unique needs. With experience in addressing a variety of mental health challenges—such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and relationship issues—Adam provides a safe and supportive environment for meaningful exploration and growth. Adam has completed two years of psychodynamic training at the Training Institute for Mental Health in New York City, and he currently holds TEAM-CBT certification. This combined background enables him to integrate insight-oriented exploration of unconscious dynamics with practical, results-focused interventions. Therapy with Adam can be described as a journey of collaborative self-exploration and meaning-making. With immense value placed on building relationships with his clients, you will be given the space to share all that comes to your mind. Throughout treatment, clients tend to not only resolve their current conflicts, but discover the life they'd like to lead.
Certifications: Adam has completed two years of training and supervision in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Training Institute for Mental Health, an institute based in New York City. In this broad theoretical orientation, the unconscious is explored through various means, with the belief that self-understanding will lead to a fuller and more productive life. Adam currently holds TEAM-CBT certification and is pursuing advanced certification in TEAM-CBT. TEAM-CBT is an evidence-based and integrative adaptation of cognitive behavioral therapy.
